As a total noob, I am just learning, but have not been able to hear anything when advancing the throttle, on the ground in in the atmosphere. There's "smoke and flame", but no sound. :)

This is with more than one stock vessel. Yes, In the config dialog I can hear all the sounds, and other programs have proper sound. The sound card is listed in my sig on my "Flight PC".

Is there a config option or file I need to checkand/or any "it always sounds like this when I do that" test to try?

Thank you!

Are you sure the OrbiterSound module is active? (Check on launchpad, modules-tab)

No it is not showing there, but it DOES show when i execute "orbiter_ng.exe"

Wait, it says on the config window to browse for program location that it only works on 2006-P1 version, but on the D/L page it says it is OK for Orbiter 2010. Also I don't see it listed here "Add-ons working in Orbiter 2010" - http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=16177

So does it or doesn't it??

It is not even listed as an option in the main Orbiter configuration window. I am going to reinstall it now and confirm - the fact that it shows up in one and not the other is strange.

Will also post on Dan's page to confirm if it does indeed work in 2010.
Thanks!

OK, I reinstalled it and still nothing - I decided to try the EXE's again and this time I noticed that "orbiter.exe" now also DID have OrbiterSound and a checkbox in the config, and yes, , and there was some sound now - wind and all that. However, the other settings and graphics were all wrong. So I recreated a new shortcut and will now go and reconfigure everything else - strange... But I can hear the thrust now. :)

Looks OK for now - thanks all!

Don't bother asking on Dan's page.
It does work in Orbiter 2010.

You have to
- Execute "OrbiterSound35.exe"
- point it to your Orbiter main install folder
- click on "Install OrbiterSound 3.5"
- Installer copies its files and then asks if it has to "activate" the sound module. Let it do it.
- Launch ORBITER LAUNCHPAD (double click on orbiter.exe)
- Go in Modules tab
- Under "Miscellanoius" confirm that the OrbiterSound module is activated.

Done.

Edit1: Ok you managed to install it while I was posting this. Good.

Edit2: By my opening sentence "Don't bother asking on Dan's page" I was referring to the main page which gives the impression of a really outdated website. I didn't mean you couldn't find help on Dan's forums.
