Songs to listen to while flying

Some great stuff in here... I'm definitely going to have to do some rotations on my playlist.
Here are a few of my favorites for people to enjoy---~~

We could have a nice float
Lovely day for a spacewalk
Station approach or otherwise takin' care of business
Sure is peaceful up here...

Heres a couple of mine

  • Theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey
    The Final Countdown
Ummm.... 50s/60s sci fi theme songs?

Whatever you get the idea.

Darren

Edit: Help - The Beatles perfect when that one dumb astronaut ends up in a decaying orbit with no hope of rescue

I believe this has been posted in the Orbiter Video Thread, and i wonder why haven't I seen it here yet.

I like Albedo 0.39 by Vangelis when Orbitering (is that a verb ?)

I hear:
For those about to rock (We salute you) by AC/DC
It's a long way to the top by AC/DC
and,
The Eagle Has Landed by Saxon

Mostly classical relaxing music, nothing "hard", but this one makes my day anytime!

Ahhh! A Pat Metheny fan. I love lunar landing approaches while listening to Thrid Wind by Pat Metheny from Still Life Talking album.

Starrider by Foreigner, Trava u doma by "Zemlyane" :)

This is appropriately grand and large in scope. I can imagine driving the crawler with some epic new space shuttle or something! Or maybe as simple as having the VAB doors open and your ship roll out. After all we are sailing the sea of stars. And the first half of the track really fits the scale of things.

Now for floating and drifting around in space like looking at a gas-giant eclipse or exploring the moons of Saturn or something like that.. Perhaps just drifting on RCS and enjoying a backdrop and starscape. You can't beat this Jonn Serrie stuff!

Basically pretty much anything from these albums by Mr. Serrie:
And the Stars Go With You
Thousand Star
Tingri

Enroute To Delta Pavonis is pretty good, and so is Iridani, and Outreach.

Now, the second half of this is splenderofous!

I also could not find an on-line sample of a track from Tangerine Dream's Force Majeure, you know the one that sounds like digestive gasses working overtime on a pizza in your lower intestines.
Anyways, beginning around 4:00 and continuing through 6:45, you can finish up your scram ascent in the XR-2 and do some barrel rolls too. Great and total fun!!

I encourage everyone to listen to both of these all the way through >:D

Always sends chills down my spine whenever I hear it. I also can't help but imagining myself in 20 years or so as an astronaut. I hope it really turns out that way.

GODDAMNIT! I AM FORCED TO KEEP RUNNING INTO VOCALOID ON THE INTERNETS.
*Heavy Breathing* I'll be safe as long as Miku doesn't leave my computer.
Hello.
Too late. Remember me as I was, an OF member.

All of this group's albums except one have science fiction and space as their main theme. This makes most of their songs quite fitting for accompanying Orbiter flights.

I like to listen to to these albums by Pink Floyd:

The Wall
Wish You Were Here
Dark Side of the Moon (especially when flying to, and around the moon) :)

Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi is awesome to.
