Space Shuttle Ultra 1.25 Revision B development

I've checked in a fix for the RMS EE camera issue.
I can confirm the fix and it's working very nicely! It even fixed the camera jump when you begin to move the arm! Everything is very smooth now. The RMS is ready for operational use!

Now that OrbiterSound 4.0 has been released I think we should update the code in SSU to use the new OS 4.0 API and compile against the new header and lib.

Has anyone tried running the existing SSU with OS 4.0 installed? When translating up, the thruster sounds don't stop. For all other thruster directions the sound plays and then stops, even if the thrusters are still firing (this is the expected behaviour).

I can confirm this.

One more question: currently, for brief RCS thruster firings, the sound continues playing even after the thrusters shut down. Is this realistic, or should the sound stop when the thrusters stop firing?

It should stop and the reverb of the thruster firing through the structure would be heard for a moment.

AFAIR, the thrusters are also only fired pulsed for thermal reasons.

I have found some pre-launch sound clips from STS-100/6A in April 2001. Could these be implemented if I check them in?

What are the clips? I don't think its a good idea to play any mission-specific sounds.

They're actually pretty generic and only use "CDR", "OTC", "PLT", "NTD", "GLS" and "Flight Crew". Nothing else that would lock them to a specific mission or Orbiter.

What are the sounds for? If they're tied to events we already simulate (like SSME start) or a specific time in the countdown it should be possible, but otherwise things might be messy.

They're of Terminal Count(T-9 minutes to lift-off).
These sound clips have been checked in. Only missing clip is of the OTC request to the CDR to reconfigure the FES heaters.

I would request, please, some kind of configuration in SCN file to be able to turn off radio comms at prelaunch and launch, because in my simulation group, where I will (and I am) use SSU we have communications in prelaunch, launch and mission via TeamSpeak, so this is confusing and disturbing for the people flying the mission. This is just in my case, but consider it please.

Thank you.

You might try making your own comms with an object view other than the SSU one. If it's possible.

Has anyone used the de-orbit burn program of BaseSyncMFD to get good de-orbit burn data? If so, what values did you use from ReA, Ant and Alt?

Another sound question: when should the Cryo_noise.wav file play?
It's normal ambient noise that you can hear around the pad. Around the APS/APU levels and the Zero Level of the MLP it is more of a buzzing sound than the normal hissing sound you can hear everywhere else.

See these two videos of a FOD walkdown prior to STS-133:

Dave please explain me why buttons of SSU VC not working? I have SSU 1.25 revision 1357.

Don't know as that is an old and out-of-date revision. Please refrain from posting support questions/bug reports unless you're using the latest revision of the SSU sources.

Rev. 1357 is the latest set of compiled modules on Sourceforge. I'm not sure why it isn't working, but since no one else has reported VC problems, you're probably doing something wrong. Unless you post more information (what switches aren't working, what exactly you're trying to do, etc.) we can't figure out what's happening.

Done. To compile SSU, you need to install OS 4.0 and copy the OrbiterSound header/lib files from Sound/OrbiterSound_SDK/VESSELSOUND_SDK/ShuttlePB_project) to the orbitersdk/include and lib/ directories.

Both the VS2010 and VS2008 project have been updated, but I don't have VS2008 on my computer, so it would be nice if someone who has VS2008 could make sure everything is working.
