I think we need a thread where we can place our spaceflight related videos that doesn't belong to any other specific thread ;)

I actually was there today on a business trip, and when our tour bus passed by there, we initially thought another pipeline had bust or there was another fire drill. But the bus sat up high enough to distinguish the orbiter's shape. And it certainly explains why that NASA security Huey was flying in circles! Thanks for the video!

Thread moved to Space Flight News forum and made sticky. ;)

At least one of the Orbiter-Forum members, myself, is in the Historic Photo and video IronRain posted above. Lately we have been doing a lot of these photo ops for the end of the program.

That's pretty awesome

That's right the NASA Helicopter was there to take the photos but the video was shot from the VAB roof. Several tour buses got held up during all this while employees crossed the road.

Video above:
on the side of the SRB bit cars, there is a sign that says "DO NOT HUMP", Is that a technical term?

First video:
NASA, they can put a man on the moon, and build and (barely) maintain the worlds most complicated vehicle, but they can't arrange a bunch of people in the middle of a car park into a circle. No one thought to just quickly go out before hand with a piece of chalk and some string...

We didn't expect that many people to show up to the photo shoot. I think over 3000 came and at the last minute we made the circle. It was done in a hurry because the helicopter was scheduled to come at 12 noon and we only had a few minutes. There was no chalk line for the circle. Obviously there was for the orbiter outline.

Not completely space flight but it comes close enough to post it here ;)

A personal favorite. Hard to imagine a balloon carrying one 1/3 of the way to space.

Good choice for the background track !
