Launch News SpaceX Falcon 9 v1.1 with SES-8, December 3, 2013

Looks like they're going to try today! 10% chance of a weather violation.

@SpaceX
#Falcon9 is GO for launch of #SES8 today at 5:41p ET. Watch LIVE starting at 5:25: http://www.spacex.com/webcast pic.twitter.com/zQYC2xUFBd

Webcast started - completely clear skies as the Sun sets! (and here in this side of the world the Sun is ready to rise above the horizon ;))

...can someone tell the guy with the remote-controll to stop "zapping"! :rolleyes:

Why its again such perfect in launch broadcasting by SpaceX?

Good however that there did launch the Falcon 9 1.1 today and not a scrub again. Finally I can see two launches live in a few days, something what is unique for me now because work :lol:

Errr....sorry, I didn't ment to stop "transmitting" ;)

At least it seems to have been a successful launch (so far we can tell).
Congrats SpaceX

Maybe we are expecting too much since that chinese moon-shot launch :lol:

Launch is successful, but we still must waiting before the second burn of the second stage before it putted SES-8 into its GEO.

We all know that the Chinese don't really broadcasting there launches until its special, but when there doing it, then there doing it really good.

Now only waiting on the day SpaceX gives us also better live broadcasting of the Falcon-9...

Coming up at the moment of truth. Fingers crossed everyone!

@elonmusk
Reached parking orbit. Now coasting towards equator, where the upper stage will, if all goes well, restart to raise apogee

When NASA TV has coverage of the F9 launch with Dragon it's always pretty good shuttle-esque coverage.

Yes I know, but that is also because its not just a 'interesting payload' like the Dragon is. Sadly its a fact that normal satellite launches are mostly just viewed (much) less then something like the Dragon.

Now lets hope that the second burn of the second stage goes good and well on the correct time.

From SPACEX on twitter:

#Falcon9 second stage restart burn successful. Orbit looks nominal.

Spacecraft separation confirmed! SES-8 is now in its targeted GEO transfer orbit.
