SpaceX pushes back target date for next Falcon 1 launch

I thought that after Flight-1 they'd decided it was unsafe to static-test the flight hardware?

Perhaps but when they did a shocker by launching on the 2nd flight after the first attempt of the day ended JUST before it was too late (Engine was already running) I would say that atleast they got static tests going just fine.

Looks like they're preparing the rocket for launch! They've already got a link to a "test" webcast up on their site. I'm hoping they'll go tomorrow!
As far as I know, they're preparing for a launch on Friday(August 1), and not tommorow(July 31).

EXCITING!!! Can't wait until we know the launch time, and then sit back and watch the rocket fly! :beach:

Wouldn't it be awesome if a SpaceX Dragon was the first to return to Lunar Orbit? :)

Anyone have any idea what time on Friday for the launch? I know Space X has been tight-lipped about this launch.

I don't know if the Dragon will be the first one to return to lunar orbit. I don't think its launcher and upper stage are set up for much other than LEO.

Some sources has the launch window between 2300 ZULU(5 pm EDT) August 1 and 0400 ZULU August 2(12 am EDT).

Just checked, and according to Wikipedia(I know not the most reliable...) the launch is set for 00:00 on 8/1. Anyone know what time that is in UTC or EST?

Any updates on a time for the Falcon 1e launch today?

You can tell, it's a boring Friday night...

Space X is trying for some ambitious things! Keep it up Elon Musk. You created paypal, if only you could creat LEOpal.

Seriously, I hope Space X gets it right. The US is going to be depending on them for a way to get our Astronauts into space 2010-15 in the Falcon 9.
