General Question Speaking "power" or "force"

Hi folks,

would anyone feel aggressed, if a MFD labels "Engine Power" and then in fact the engine's maximum possible thrust force [N] is displayed?
I would speak of a "force" if it is actually working. Technical sheets always say "power" for "how amazing strong" a vessel / car is
I refreshed my physics with google (school with physics and maths is 20 years ago) and is says: power = force * speed. But what speed is meant? A car has horsepower possibly anywhere in it, even if it's still standing

Can anyone anser me this (ridicilous) question? :blush:

Why not call it Max Thrust?
And power is more "work over time". You would probably see the distance and time ("speed") as units. And relate work to energy.

Dimensional analysis!

The unit of power is the Watt, which is equivalent to [Joule/second]. The dimension of the Joule is [Newton * metre], therefore, the Watt is equivalent to [Newton * metre/second], or, in elementary units, [kilogramme * (metre^2) / (second^3)].
