Would it be possible to create a spy camera either as a physical module that gets attached to the cargo bay of a recon bird or as a special mfd?

I was playing with the camera mfd and it has a lot of great features that if enhanced a bit, would make a great spy camera for spyplanes. The spy camera would just like the mfd be able to target a given object and have panning capabilities. The camera mfd can only zoom so far and not nearly enough to be able to zoom from an orbit type of altitude. I had to fly very low to the ground at the highest zoom level to see the plane I was targeting in my hud. It would be great to have similar zoom options that Orbiter's external camera provides with not only minor zoom increments but also the focused background zoom using the z and x keys I believe it is. That way you could fly from extreme atlitudes and still see a clear image of your target. And maybe even have a "snapshot" function that will allow you to take a screenshot fo the spy camera mfd's display so you can view the pictures later.

The camera mfd as it is also updates very slowly. If the new camera could function in absolute real time so that the tracking and panning is smooth that would be good too. The existing camera mfd also implements a night vision filter. This as well as maybe infared white hot/black hot as well as standard black and white would also be a cool feature for the spy camera.

Just throwing an idea out that that would be a lot of fun.

I don't think this will be able in the current orbiter engine.
I really don't want to spread half truths, but camera MFD delivers in terms of picture quality what is possible.

But having that would be cool, I can agree with that!

oops...
I actualy got cameraMFD mixed up with telescopeMFD ;)
