Hi all, I'm new here.

I have recently begun trying Space Station Building Blocks and I'm using Burch's Big Space Plane 4.0 and SSBB 4.1 and the BSP Scenario Generator. my issue is this. I have four connected truss segments in orbit. I begin a new scenario with a new payload. If I use Time acceleration the orbiting modules seam to come apart though their relative positions and behavior suggest that they are still connected in some manner. :(If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I have included my diagnostic below.

Thanks

I do not seem to be getting any responses so maybe I didn't give enough information I don't know. All I know is that I use time acceleration of no greater than 100X to get to a point where the orbit is aligned with my take off and when I look at the truss arrangement in orbit it's all out of whack. I even restarted the scenario and watched the assembly as it slowly began to come apart. I undocked every module before assembling and every thing went smoothly but two of the modules end up in an arrangement where they look like they would in the BSPC5 (joined at the corners, weird) after time acceleration. I also tried to change the modified Julian date in the Orbiter scenario editor instead of time acceleration and that caused similar issues and would completely change the orbits inclination.

Also if any can answer this I would appreciate it. When I use the regular Orbiter Scenario Editor to add a Dragonfly to the station I get similar issues. the center truss of three linked end to end disappears but the two that remain act as if they are still joined by the missing center piece and the whole thing starts tumbling wildly.

I'm a quick study when it comes to computers but right now I am at a loss.

I also assume that some of the missing files shown in my diagnostic are because they were replaced by BSP4 files. Yes, no?

I cannot tell you anything about blocks coming apart since I did not build a SS with these blocks myself yet. However, the errors in your orbiter.log are caused because you lack older SSBB versions and/or other addons.

I solved this by installing the original SSBB (1.0), then 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and eventually 4.1 (in that order). Also you probably need the LSTS packages. Simplest way is to check at orbiterhangar for all of Greg's addons and install them in the order of release date (ascending).

For SSBB you only need 4.0 and 4.1
There is one scenario that has the Space Plane 2.0 and BSP 4.0 in it.

Ok, I've got a fresh install with Burch's Big Splane 2 and 4 and I have Space Station Building Blocks 4.0 and 4.1. I'm starting to think that maybe it's just too much for my computer. Now things work ok but I still get some strange behavior. If I dock with my station and grapple it with the arm I seem to only capture the one piece I grapple and not the whole assembly. The other pieces act like they are still docked to my BSP and the grappled piece is still there even though its on the end of the robotic arm and swung out of the way. If I ungrapple it the piece pops right back into place on the BSP Docking tube. To top it off I get random shutdowns of the RCS sytem. It goes to off and there seems to be nothing I can do. I have a new diagnostic below but it doesn't seem to show anything new and can anyone tell me why I have all of these missing files?

What you're talking about is the "bad craziness" referred to in the BSP 4 documentation.
When you attach (grapple) something, it overrides the dock function and the piece moves with the arm. However, orbiter still records the piece as being docked to the other modules. (You can check this out using the scenario editor, select the piece in question and click "Docking", it will show the piece still docked) When you ungrapple (unattach), the dock function takes over again and the piece snaps back to where it was.

There's nothing wrong with your machine, thats just how the attachment and docking functions interact.
Greg's documentation tells you how to work around it: make sure the piece is undocked from everything before ungrappling.

Ahhhhh I see. Thanks. That was very helpful.

Something else I'm trying to learn. Using the BSP scenario generator is helping me to learn about editing scenario files. I've been a bit experimental and I'm learning a lot. Can anyone explain to me how to carry a Dragonfly in the BSP. I tried just generating a scenario with a module as payload and then pasting the "Tug" title over the module name in the ships section and that does replace the module with the Dragonfly but the Tug isn't attached. It gets left behind on the runway. Are there any good resources explaining attach points?

Thanks for everyones help.
