Urwumpe,

Were you able to change the ET texture at SRB sep?

Urwumpe or SC,

Could the shock diamonds, of the SSME exhaust, be turned off at SRB sep and given the same exhaust as the OMS assist( except bigger of course). Would look better IMO. Also, would it be possible to shut off the APU sound in the VC?

No luck yet. The code is exactly the same as for another add-on I made, but the texture is not changed, because it is considered unsuitable.

Also noticed, that the padlighting accorded to the Orbiter, stays on after lift-off, making the orbiter glow during launch.

How's the latch work coming along?

Checked in some fixes/improvements to the OMS burn software and displays. EXEC now needs to be pressed to allow the engines to fire. I also fixed some bugs in the OMS TVC.

Do you want to have a setting for the time for EXEC inside the mission files?

I have compiled modules from the revision with no today OMS improvement, and still have bug while loading quicksave. When I load it, and press AUTO on DAP, shuttle have strange rotation. To stop it, I must press ITEM 27 EXEC to orient it to "normal" attitude and then press ITEM 27 EXEC second time.

If you want to add a setting for that, go ahead. Only a few lines would need to be changed in the code.

OK, then I will add such a setting... plan to have a quick prototype this weekend.

The only improvements you should see are that EXEC needs to be pressed just before ignition to allow the burn to take place, and the RCS thrusters aren't used for attitude control during OMS burns.

I'm currently working on fixing a couple of bugs in the pre-burn DAP, including the one you mentioned.

Putting payload to Cargo Bay is different? I attached payload to 0 attachment, and when moving RMS, payload is moving too.

Damn. In previous versions, attachment 0 was in center of cargobay.

How hard would it be to implement a generic cryo hissing sound when the ET is loaded with propellant? You can clearly hear it when the PAO activates the pad mics and prior to APU start.

Not sure. Just playing the sound would maybe be not too hard, if we have the sound. Could maybe improve the immersion, if we have this... maybe also some fog below the ET and the SSMEs

The "fog" we already have, just press Ctrl-X! It's the GOX venting from the SSME nozzles that is being blown around in the wind. As we don't have any wind in Orbiter, I made it to suit that environment based on no-wind ventings as seen during the tankings of STS-107 and STS-114.

And I think I could find a good sound file for the cryo hissing.

-----Post Added-----

OK, checked in a few new SFX files. Decided to throw in a couple of sounds for operating switches and switch guards.

Please do not have the sound heard in the VC, we need to get the APU sounds out of VC too. Also the APU sounds need to stop when the ignitors start.

I think if I do some work directly inside the orbiter code in the next days, the first thing I will promise to do is fixing the redraw handling and improve the speed a bit

Sounds good !!
