General Question station building (attachments + cargodeck)

Hey is it possible to build a station with Universal cargo deck? Ive been experimenting with using it to connect 2 modules together but there docking ports no longer work with cargodeck holding them together.

The ship snaps like its docked but then just floats off.

Ive been trying attachment manager also but its seems alot more fiddley to get right and theres no docs with it so I dont know how to use it.

If you're using Universal Cargo Deck, any docked vessels have to be jettisoned from the deck in order for Orbiter to truly register it. The deck is an attachment system, which overrides docking.

I'm using UCD on the ProjectAlpha ISS mesh to allow me to add components to the truss. Also saves me having to mess around with creating attachment points.

hum i can see thats going to be a problem later on when i need to dock.
I was hoping to have a usable soyuz a ATV and a shuttle docking port but if the whole station is held together with a UCD i may have trouble.

Thanks for your imput anyway I will try and figure it out. Ive noticed I can still dock with the vessel that is set as Core vessel in UCD settings so I can at least use that -):lol:

Why not dock the modules? Why do you need UCD for this?

My ISS is the core vessel for UCD which means I have additional bits (not docking modules) attached.
