The Astronaut Who Left NASA Over Fake Taxi Receipts Is ...

Last December, an astronaut with NASA was fired for submitting over $1,600 in fake reimbursements for taxis they didn't take.

My sources tell me that Cady Coleman is indeed the astronaut mentioned by the OIG.

There have been a few anomalous astronauts over the decades. Lisa Nowak comes to mind.

I wonder if she was doing this to prove a point. I read once that Norm Thagard had to pay for special Russian language classes in Monterey, CA (and the travel to and from in a rental car from Houston) out of pocket in preparation for his Mir flight. I imagine similar scenarios taking place in the years since.
