The place for any and all discussion of the royal game, and even playing games via notation. (Please use the reply button to keep straight as to who is playing against whom.)

I haven't played chess in quite some time, as the program on my computer is nearly impossible to even hold my own against, let alone beat. I prefer human opponents on the rare occasions I can get them

The other reason I've gotten lax at the game is that I've been spending time with other things, like Orbiter

I regularly play it with my 6-year-old brother, along with othello. He hasn't yet beaten me, but he will any day now.

(He beats me at othello all the time though! )

I wonder how New Horizons keeps itself occupied, there's no copy of Fritz or Chessmaster in sight. That is assuming if those programs are even a match for New Horizons; NASA builds some really intelligent and radiation-resistant spacecraft.

I can play against a computer but it often ends up as being a very long(usually30min) game after the computer and i destroy each others peaces...
