News The UK will formally launch its new space agency on Tuesday

Space Bonds, I like it! The ultimate pyramid selling scam?

Thinking about it, there must have been a real Major Tom in some space program. Maybe before Bowie left the planet though...

N.

As a child of the 80s, I prefer the Peter Schilling version with its West German new wave sound. And Shiny Toy Guns did a nice remake of it recently, too.

That video is absolutely hilarious! Always loved the Brits scence of humor. I can't beleive they did that though. Makes Mythbusters look like a bunch of chumps. :rofl:

But Mythbusters is, IMO, much better than the Brit equivalent - Brainiacs - which is a little bit too childish for my tastes.

Plus, Mythbusters has Kari Byron... :thumbup:

Exactly. But Brainiac has also a less serious premise than Mythbusters. ;) I like actually watching both. Some people I know also helped in a German TV show for testing if rockets can be used for making loops with a swing.

Never saw Brainiac but mythbusters is cool

I would consider watching it if they did things like this;

IMO you cannot top MythBusters :thumbup:

At least not those episodes where Mythbusters turn quickly into CSI:Hollywood. :rofl:

Mythbusters is miles better than Brainiac, IMO. Brainiac was also too childish for my tastes, and had far too many fireworks and petrol bombs...

Mythbusters is a TV show, but it is certainly a better one than Brainiac.

Besides, Kari Byron or Richard Hammond? You decide. :rofl:

I would say Hamster... while he also did Brainaic, he also did other shows which more than offset his sins.

Engineering Connections is really well done, I can recommend it. Can Kari Byron really compare to this? For just looking good and step out of the way when the men get serious, you don't get better than the Hamster...

xD

I agree though, Engineering Connections is quite well done.

I've always assumed that UK already has a space agency. Afterall, Romania has one.

Ok, you can stop laughing now. We really do have one.

Yes, but your president does not announce to land on the moon and return him safely before the decade is over, but to bring one to the USA and make him return. ;)

Dont you know everything happens on a Tusday. In fact you may as well stay in bed all the rest of the week cause nothing going to happen.:thumbup:

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

What we've learned from this thread:

1) If the UK space program hires Kari Byron, public support for the program will push it towards success.
