I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong, but after a few flights on the 2014 beta, I noticed that there were no shadows. This is a bit disappointing seeing a bright Earth on the night side, plus the bright spacecraft.
I have vessel shadows, object shadows, and all the other graphics options turned on (along with hardware that is more than fine to run the game). Everything worked fine at first, with the shadows working.
I'm not sure if this is a known problem, but if anyone has any idea of how to fix it, it'd be appreciated.

I discovered what was wrong. I had changed the Ambient light level setting to 255, without realizing what it did.
Always the last place you look...
