Hey guys,

I have a idea for Thunderbird 3 in Orbiter.

I've got my inspiration of this addon: [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=1235"]Thunderbirds 2,3 and 5[/ame]

However, I like the 2004 movie version more.

SPECS
From the website

Astronaut: Virgil Tracy
Length: 175 feet or 53 meter
Diameter: 23 feet or 7 meter
Weight: 562 tons or 509837 kg

Extra details:
3 engines on the sides, 3 small engines in a triangle as main engine, but could also be just 1 extra normal one in the middle. No hover engines. Altrough it was mentioned in the movie, I couldn't find a retro engine.

DOCKING
Hard to make. TB3 docks with the side, and usually with TB5. Both would be hard to make. Wouldn't be necessary though.

BASE

Tracy Island in the South Pacific. The place were the movie was shot was on the Seychelles, but that is in the Indian Ocean.

I think Thunderbird 3 could be a great addon if it would have smoke. Its a one stage rocket, and it can be shot into atmosphere nose first. If it would be invinceble, it could be a good rocket for beginners. Or Alan.

I know, but it seems outdated. Doesn't give smoke anymore and such.

It can be so much more.

Hey,I know Kev shanows thunderbirds are an old addon, but curious has anybody have these working in orbiter2010P1?I made new configs, and I can get the bases to animate, but I can't get the actual ships to appear there invisible, please explain how you got them to work if so.thanks

Alas, it would seem that the ships have their own module, which for Orbiter '05 which means compatibility is out the window. It'd need to be recompiled, and the only one who could do that rightfully would be Kev.

You could maybe take the mesh and "multistage" it. Have to offset the engines to get the flames and smoke in the right places. But even then, it'd have to be for your own use. You wouldn't want to upload it to the hangar without Kev's OK.

I think it would be better and easier to edit Ken Shanow's work and use the much better looking, traditional, Thunderbird 3

I have already started working on a base but I would need some help from someone

I would love a Thunderbird 3 and a Thunderbird 5 (so you have something to dock to)

but the design might have to be made multistage as in the original tv show TB3 landed vertically, without separation of the command module (so it couldn't splashdown)
