Too many ridiculous polls?

What we really need is a poll asking, "Are there too many polls on the forum?"

Really, I do think there are many pointless polls that either have no meaning/usefulness or just bring up conflicts that could be easily avoided. However, polls can be helpful for getting the general opinion of people on an important or interesting topic.

Nah, I'd say this poll is pretty innocuous. Guns, religion or politics (or worse, a combination thereof) seems to be where the danger lies. But then, I doubt that is specific to this forum.

Na, I don't think there are too many polls. I mean, a poll is just any other thread- only difference is an extra dialog box at the top, right? So it's not like they're any bother to anyone. In fact, some of the "stupid" polls can still be quite interesting.

Why not a poll to see which flag is the best?

And if we want lots of posts on this forum, but no more polls, we have to know the difference between a post and a poll. The difference between polls, posts, stakes, and rafters might be good to know too. The rafters would appreciate if we could tell them apart from canoers, and it's always good to remember that a steak is not a hamburger. The Hamburgers would like it if we could tell them from Parisians, and the Parisians want us to be able to tell them apart from Polls. The Polls of course, are where our trouble began, but lets make sure we know they aren't Russian. If they were Rushin', they might get a speeding ticket. A ticket will get you into the cinema, so that you can go cinema-ing, and everybody knows that cinema-in' (cinnamon) comes from India. Indiana, despite the similarity of sound, is far from India, but relatively close to Florida. Cape Canaveral is in Florida, and that's where they launch rockets. Rockets are big polls filled with flammable chemicals that shoot up into the sky. And polls are where our trouble started.

Thank you. It is easier when you can do it in writing and thus it hits everybody all at once even if it came to you in fits and starts, but aptitude for punning is also somewhat of a family thing for me...

As for the poll balancing out, I actually haven't voted yet...
