Trajectory Planner is a computer program that helps in determining the most optimal trajectory for a spacecraft to transfer from one planet to another. To determine a transfer orbit, the program calculates separate orbits for every possible launch and arrival date combination within a specified range, and outputs them as pixels on a graph (often called a "pork-chop plot").

UPDATE:

v1.1.1 - Fix problem with displaying graph for users using Vista or Windows 7.
- Fix "Termination" bug where the program didn't end when the user clicked on the "x".
- Numerous other minor fixes.

This is amazing. I just used it to find an optimum launch window to Jupiter that I used for a Jupiter-Saturn sling (13 years trip there, pretty hard on the crew), and right now it's plotting my return trip to Earth. Even if you don't use the handy TransX numbers it spits out, it provides an excellent starting point for interplanetary trips. This might be what I need to make the permanent switch over from IMFD to TransX.

I admit that I found it hard to understand but I've just read an excellent article on HOhmann orbital mechanics and I'm ready to try this tool again. I'm not clear about how to relate the graph to times and MJD dates, though.

What actually happened to it?

Thanks.
