Hello,

So now it has been 2 months since i started using orbiter.I used transX for all my space maneuvers for quite a long while and then i was interested in learning IMFD.Like any other transX user who now begins to explore IMFD,i was quite astonished by the the AB feature and the accuracy of IMFD map program.I recently used the transX IMFD map integration technique to get to other planets with only 1 MCC.(After leaving the earths gravitational influence)

But there two maneuvers which i find very much annoying due to the inaccuracy of transX,

1)Plane alignment with the base as i approach the moon/planet.
2)Slingshots.(As there r a lot of things to consider while planning)

As the first problem was easily solved by IMFD,i was wondering whether it is possible to do a slingshot also with just one MCC.I set up a transX plan for slingshot to saturn from jupiter. As i approached jupiter,IMFD map said that my peA for jupiter for 50M while for that for saturn was some 0.7A.U.But as i passed jupiter and left its sphere of influence,IMFD map said that my PeA for saturn was 6G.Although i know that i can fix it now with a small MCC,but i just wanted to know if its possible to watch this value before passing though jupiter's periapsis.

Thanks in advance.

Possible to watch it, yes. But I'm not sure how much help that will be. Even IMFD's Map has problems dealing with Jupiter's massive gravity well - and the perturbations caused by it's many moons. Make sure Map is set to it's highest accuracy and enable "adaptive" to get the best results. I'd use Ref = Sun, TGT = saturn, and CNT = "p-saturn" then enable Int mode.

Thanks a lot tommy,i was able to see that value when PeT was near 4k,as u said, the fluctuation in the value was too great,i guess i will be happy with an MCC after i escape from the sphere of influence of jupiter.

Cheers:cheers:
