Been getting a little tired of hauling only 4 cargos up to the arrow in LEO with the DG, so I started working on this...

It will obviously adapt to the tugs and will fit in the BuranT. It will have no propulsion of it's own, just an adaptor. There will be a default docking port fore and aft so that you can stack them or push em around with another spacecraft. To get the cargos out of the cage, there will be a hinge to open the cage up durring loading or durring release in orbit.

Model is not done, nor have I textured anything.

Looking for Beta Testers... If interested please PM me.

I would... but it's just a tad bit unbelieveable. Atleast for the next 50 years. With MGW and full throttle it's putting you back in your chair at around 13-15 G's.

Maybe I will try it out when I get home from work now that you mention it.

The Vanguard is a great ship, no doubt. JB's right though... just too far out of real for some of my Orbitering scenarios.

Great idea JB. The Energia is the my primary vehicle. Having the cargo lifts will be a great help. What would be the final weight of something like the setup in the four pod module?

A Tranzit with two of those bad boys would look sleek on it's way to a station :)

The Vanguard is a bit unbelivable yet you have the arrow in LEO? In my mind, you'd need something like the vanguard to be able to build the arrow.

Nice add on for the buran-t though. keep it up. :tiphat:

Whys the arrow in LEO unbelievable?. Its there to recieve supplies. And the location is to make it easier for the ferry ships.

I really like the XR5 dont get me wrong. Its just the amount of thrust it creates is enormous, especially given its loaded max takeoff weight. The arrow seems to have its acceleration to be ata more realistic level. And the size of the arrow leads me to believe that it could carry 800000 kgs of fuel. Nothing about the arrow seems out of the question, except the fact it needs to be built on the moon or in a stable orbit.

Yes but what I meant is that the arrow is just as unbelievable as the XR-5.

In your opinion, what is so unrealistic about the arrow?

Its size and its deck

It's still a nice ship, but that MASSIVE ship just for 40 small cargos? Look at it's size in comparison...

The deck wouldn't be that big. Waste of space.

Someone correct me if im wrong

Well, I think it's a great orbiter ship and I fly it myself but if you must ask the question - size, crew compliment, delta-v, engine configuration, thrust to weight ratio and landing gear configuration.

but that is just my opinion.

Let's not forget that during acceleration phases, you would fall towards the wall. Unless you are properly strapped or use only the hover engines, of course.

Heh, I'm sure if we can fly something like that we can pretend we have inertial damping or something like that.

IMHO the size actually is realistic considering it is really a floating fuel tank... It carries 800000 kg of fuel.. The size leads me to believe it can actually carry that.

40 cargos at anywhere between 1ton to 10 tons each, (the maximum UCGO cargo is 10tons) thats a bit of weight. More weight more fuel. On average 40000kg's of weight to mars with a small crew compliment. It seems reasonable to me.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but durring acceleration, isn't the ship accelerating foreward? Wouldn't that push you backwards into your seat?

What would be the final weight of something like the setup in the four pod module

So the cage and the cargo bed id made of a light alloy, figure around 800lbs for the cage at the most. Everything else is the weight of the UCGO cargoes and each cage carries 9.

So for a cage with 9x 1 ton cargoes would be roughly 10-11 thousand metric tons.

I just sat down from dinner and I am getting ready to give it a test after I throw the docking ports on it...

Ok, Just finished it. It docks, it loads UCGO Cargo, it fits in the BuranT and I could use a few people who use the Energia often to test this please.

If interested, please pm me. Looking for no more than 5 testers.
