I added this to a prelude base I've got on Ascension and it looks cool, nice place to keep my UCGO boxes before flight.

Thanks ! :cheers: I'll probably release a few more of my UCGO / UMMU related buildings in the future too :thumbup:

If I recall correctly, Woo482 uses 3dsmax for meshing. I don't think there's a cast-iron method of converting sketchup's output format to msh.

He did and I've heard that the best way of converting sketchup to MSH via via 3DS but for that you need sketchup pro and you lose the textures so it's a slightly messy process.

Yeah, I've heard of a few "messy" ways to get the data transferred across, but no "cast iron" (or perhaps "complete" or "clean" would work better) solution for it.

Perhaps the formats are just too different, but from what I hear SketchUp's main benefit is the speed with which you can knock up a 3D example of a design, so it's perhaps useful to get ideas out of your head and quickly realised elsewhere. Paper and pencil doesn't do 3D designs justice, really.

You're correct ! :cheers:

Just thought I should post a few images of the UCGO related thing I'm working on:

As you can see it's a rather simple shipping container that can hold up to 16 UCGOs and can also fit inside a XR5's bay, I should have a release in the next few days :cheers: there isn't too much left to code.

Awesome :cheers:this will definitely make an excellent addition to my future lunar mining operations.

I'm starting to use UCGO more often lately, mostly because of this stuff. :thumbup:

Are the containers simply UCGO-compatible vessels, also compatible with XR-5 cargo handling?

Will those things have parachutes? :hmm:
nope :lol: unless I get quite a few request for it then I'll probably try adding some.

They're basically the same as my XR5 UCGO platform, just look a little more realistic and have some pretty nice animations :thumbup: and also (hopefully) action areas so you can open / close them with a UMMU and also unpack the cargo

This should work -> [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3842"]Universal Parachute[/ame]

I've released the addon, you can get it here
