About:
Displacement booths to be used by UMMU's for instant teleportation in-between them.
Can transport one UmmU and anything it's carrying.

Installation:
-Unpack
-Activate "displacement" module
-Run the included scenario (or any other)
-Approach the booth, select the destination
-Blink, align, get used to new location

Controls:
-When in range, a menu should appear
-1 thru 9 selects destination booth
-Only works with UMMU
-To add more booths, just position or unpack "displacement" vessels where you like them, enumeration is automatic

Update 100119:
-UCGO cargo compatibility. Using default box mesh and repainted texture.
Fix 1:
-Fixed box non-appearance.

Very nice - would there be any problems if I made this an unpackable cargo as part of Dan's UCGO? I don't think this would need any editing of the addon at all.

Actually, that was the original idea - a portable package that unzips into a booth by a ummu on arrival to a distant planet, and can be use for latter transport.
So, by all means try it out.

There seems to be a problem with these booths- the menu doesn't come up as advertised.

I guess it would help to activate the module. >_>

I found out that using it realy quickley is bad for my computers health!:lol:

Couple things:
I had one of these on the surface of Europa, and another in orbit thereof. Upon taking the orbital booth to the surface booth, I impacted the ground or something, was sent spinning into the air by a few dozen meters, and fell to my death.
Taking the booth from surface to orbit didn't trigger the UMMU to switch out of ground mode, and I was unable to use my RCS systems or move at all, short of teleporting back to ground (which worked, oddly).
I think my orbit to surface error was caused by not being aligned properly with the booth when I teleported. I also get the feeling these weren't meant for air to ground transportation, but it's not like that's going to stop me. :D

Other than that, it'd be nice if we could re-pack the booth into an UCGO box, and maybe some way of choosing a booth name when you unpack one.

I really like the displacement booths. I have been trying to do something similar, but I have been having problems. I would love to be able to see your source code, if you wouldn't mind? I'd really appreciate it.
 
I tried the displacement booths, and I didn't see a menu (even though the module is active). Is there a key I have to hit?
 
Booths not functioning

I tried activating the booths (enter key), nothing. No menu, nadda. What am I doing wrong here? :facepalm:
 
It would be interesting if the pod/box were a mesh of the pods used in the movie "The Fly"

With a large enough door to permit a UMMU walkin without bendover. Just thinking...:hmm:

You can make the mesh what ever you want. Back up original. We used it in the MoonBase Alpha
 
A door that closes before the teleportation, a flash of light, and opens after the teleportation (maybe with some particle effect) would be awesome. :2cents:
 
Not getting anywhere with these booths. I approach them, hit "enter" (activate), no menu pops up :-( Anyone? A little help here?
 
We need more detail to help you, like the version of Orbiter you are using, the version of UmmU, etc...
