i have been developing some new ucgo cargoes for a mining operation on different planets ice, Mars soil, hydrogen, and the original lunar soil more info when they are released

but there are lots of cargoes and no factories or mines besides a few so i want some help and advice on how to build mainly code a factories

I think you could make it as a vessel that spawns UCGO cargo...

Not sure how though.

I think you would really have no choice but to make it a "vessel." The dome over Clavius Base in sputnik's WO2001 addon is technically a vessel, if I recall correctly.

A factory would have to be a vessel but the code for that a vessel is moderately simple

Yes, you can quite easily make a "factory vessel" that drops UGCO cargo every given unit of time.

Maybe you could have mines (iron, coal, uranium, bauxite, unobtainium...), farms, oil rigs, water pumping sites, gas extraction facilities as primary ressource producers that would work easily on that model (spawn UGCO boxes out of nothing).

Then you could add transformation industries like power plants, food processing, steel mills, refineries, chemical plants (oil -> plastics, iron+coal -> steel..., uranium or coal -> power)

Hi-tech industries, like a DG factory, would require power, food, and a supply of various materials (electronics, aluminium, composites, plastics...) produced by the transformation industries.

To keep things simple, power could be in UGCO boxes too. Not THAT unrealistic in terms of economy. And that depends of your environnement (realistic, near-future, sci-fi...)
 
The GDI Miner and Ore Mill were made by me for Orbiter2006 and as far as I know don't work in 2010.

I've just gone through a long lay off from Orbiter due to various reasons but am starting to get back into it.

If there's interest I could have a look at what I need to do to update them to 2010?

Also had plans for a smelter and a couple other units in mind.
 
and for further-prcessingfactorys you could use those codes wich turn food-and-water-cargos into trash-cargos...
 
I use both GDI vessels frequently in my 2010 installation... they both work fine for me :)
This is a great idea btw, i had an idea like this a while back... but lacked the knowelege and developers skill to make it happen.

Glad to hear they work, some of the comment on OH indicated they didn't but maybe that was referring to the pre P1 version?
