A friend of mine has installed orbiter onto my pc,and now that i nolonger want to use it i would like to uninstall it but everytime i try i get a window open telling me that there are files missing,so will i have to reinstall the software to remove it properly or is there another way,i have gone into my main hdd on my pc to locate the files there but there are no files anywhere in any of my 3 hdd in my system.Any ideas?

If Orbiter was installed with the MSI installer and its files were deleted instead of being uninstalled, you need to reinstall it into the same location, if uninstaller simply doesn't want remove itself from the list of installed applications.

(Alternatively you can use registry editor and remove the Orbiter uninstaller from the installed programs, as also delete the Orbiter entry in Programs menu.)

are you sure you won't reconsider? :shifty:

Well I wouldn't deinstall it at all, since it's awesome and it doesn't take much disk space without mods, but f you really want to:
there should be an orbiter folder either manually installed onto your desktop or "own documents" or downoads or somewhere, or automatically installed to your "program files"/"programs" or directly on your disc. Just search and delete that folder and ... it .. is ... deinstalled

I think the problem is actually that it was installed with the MSI installer and then simply deleted, since it can't be found on disk, leaving menu shortcuts and the uninstaller entry in "Programs and Features".

Then you can simply delete the shortcuts, if they're ll that's left

The installer entry you can find in "Programs and Features" in the Control panel isn't a shortcut, but data stored in the registry.

If it's the only thing left behind and can't be removed by simply clicking on "Uninstall", you can use this to fix it.

Download Revo uninstaller. It's free and it will search out anything that was associated with a program and zap it.
