Hello lads! :hello:

I just updated to
Orbiter 2010P1 and XR2 1.4
from
Orbiter 2006 and XR2 Version 1.0, Build Date: Oct 8 2008 (a combo I like so much I keep it on my pen drive :tiphat:)

New install? Gorgeous

After a bit of PREF and SCN tweaking, I hit the Wild Black Yonder!

All my favourite MFDs etc work without a hitch

except

Axial Velocity HUD v1.0 RC2
http://www.orbithangar.com/addonpics/velhud-01.JPG

A quick check shows it works with the "stock" ships

 I changed the XR2 prefs for anything HUD related i.e
ShowAltitudeAndVerticalSpeedOnHUD = 0
DistanceToBaseOnHUDAltitudeThreshold = -1

Luck was had in a quantity of zero :embarrassed:

There's a couple of lines in D:\ORBITER2010\Config\velhud\velhud-list.cfg

Code:
#
# This file lists add-on vessel class names that are compatible with VELHUD.
# To be compatible, an addon vessel simply needs to be derived from VESSEL2 class.
# Unfortunately, there's no reliable way to automatically tell if a particular
# orbiter vessel is VESSEL2-derived, and
# IF A SHIP IS NOT VESSEL2-DERIVED, VELHUD WILL MOST LIKELY CAUSE ORBITER CTD.
#
# Feel free to add as many vessels as you wish.
# NOTE: vessels that use Spacecraft/Velcro are compatible and are already added.
# NOTE: class names are ASCII, case-insensitive
# NOTE: * at the end (only) matches anything beyond it, eg. XR* matches both
# XR2Ravenstar, XR5Vanguard.
#
DG-S
ShuttlePB
ShuttleA
Dragonfly
DeltaGlider*
xR*
Velcro/*
probe

Is the XR2 no longer VESSEL2-DERIVED?

I've grown accustomed to that HUD and will be sorry to see it go

Any tips or ideas greatly appreciated :hail:

Thank you,

The XR2 now derives from VESSEL3. It may be possible to recompile VELHUD to work, but the original author or source code would be required.

Good man Xyon :tiphat:

I can stop messing around now I see there's a technical reason it is Not To Be :compbash2:

The bold Wraith hasn't been around in a while, I'll PM him and see if he's still alive or dead :sos:
