Uranus Trojan Discovered

The American pronunciation of "Uranus" turns the title of this thread into something that sounds like a computer virus adapted for use on humans...

That was inevitable...

I know I know, sorry. It's just the first thing I thought of...

Rumor has it that Neptune has even more.

Or a rectal condom discovery...

Does already exist. But knowing WHY it exists can ruin the sexuality of sensitive minds for years. :uhh:

Same here... Trojans trailing Uranus... that sounds pretty dirty.

You would be surprised, how old the majority of the uranus joke fans really is... some reached the intelligence of a four year old once and never left it since.

Oh boogabooga, what happened to your nice intelligent thread...

On a serious note, I find this quite surprising that they don't have more of those out there. Wouldn't being so much nearer to the Kuiper Belt etc. make it easier to pick up asteroids?

I think the reason we don't see so many ice giant trojans is that the power our telescopes have is to low to see them.

In theory, every planet should have its Trojans and Greeks "goup" of asteroid, no? They are just more or less big ...

I would think that around Uranus would be a natural place to find asteroids, personally...

/ok, enough with the juvenile humor :P

That's not a universal pronunciation across America.

/jɚɪnɪs/ is the pronunciation I learned growing up in Denver, and doesn't lend itself to that joke (though it does lend itself to other toilet humor).

As did I. Did anyone even respond to the original post in an actual mature way or is everything just a bunch of jokes about the planet Uranus?
