Maybe they could locate the racetrack some 10 nautical miles from the audience stage, inside a temporary restricted airspace, above the desert and away from any living areas. Why are you so set to force others to adopt your extreme stance? I want to go to air shows and know many others that do too. People are free to make their own decisions even if they have some danger. People dive with Great White Sharks, free fall from planes, and fly airplanes. All of those are far more dangerous than airshows and people choose to do them for the sake of enjoyment.

I think the security has not been much worse as it had been for Formula One races once...which means, it wasn't really good.

I think the danger is not the distance to the spectators, but that the planes did turn towards the spectators, which means that they had not been in really stable flight near the spectators. When something breaks on leaving the curve, the plane has a high chance to fly towards the spectator area. A slightly different design of the track would be better there.

UPDATE: A family friend has seen the telemetry from Ghost, and the pitchup was 11 G's almost at once. The engine was never throttled back, either. There is no longer any question that Leeward was out cold.

The NTSB investigator indicates that Mr. Leeward did not make a mayday call. I would suspect this is true due to the tab departing the airframe and the 12.6G pitch up that would have taken the stick away from him and rendered him unconscious. It is interesting to note that the preliminary report released by the NTSB on the following Friday did not mention a Mayday one way or the other. "As with the memory cards, one of the authorities' first goals will be to determine whether these came from the plane being piloted by 74-year-old Jimmy Leeward.
