I am trying to do a vertical take off with the delta glider but I am unable to even get off the landing pad. I am on the scenario Cape Canaveral, I bring the Hover lever all the way up, I am able to see all the particles for the hover effect but it is glued to the ground. It won't leave the ground unless I double tap the landing gear to bring it up and down which will make it bounce. I am able to go on the moon scenario and take off but I can't on earth for some reason.

The DeltaGlider is too heavy when fully tanked to make a vertical take off from Earth. You need to decrease the amount of fuel in the main tank to VTOL from Earth.

It should be powerful enough for Mars, too. ;)

Unchecking complex flight model did the trick. I guess the vtol isn't strong enough to lift it off earth, on a full tank.

While *possibly* not too realistic (heh, it works anyway!), you can get it to go on full tanks on Earth with the complex flight model:

Enable RCS Rot, and fire up the hover engines. Pitch up, the combined effect of the RCS and the hover is just about enough to get it to pivot on the main wheels (in the interests of realism you can avoid hitting the engines on the deck if you don't go above about 7 degrees). Throw the throttles fully open, get the gear in as soon as possible, and keep it as close to vertical as you can until you're over any obstacles, then pitch forward to build up the speed.

You'll need to keep pushing it forwards a bit, the hover engines will throw it on it's back otherwise, and then they're rather unhelpfully pointing towards the sky...

is it not possible to position it nose-up for a shuttle-style launch from the pad instead of rolling down the runway or hovering up?

i think it can be done by means of .scn editing... but it escapes my knowledge to tell exactly how it's done
