Can anyone tell me what they are paying for electricity and gasoline in their locales? I am teaching an alternative and renewable energy course and want to talk about these costs across the world. I am also looking at other sites for this information, but your inputs would be very welcome.

Thanks!

Currently, roughly $60 CAD per week, driving from outside Moncton to Sackville, about a 45-minute drive by highway.
Price per litre of gasoline is holding near the $1.20 CAD mark.

Electric bills aren't handy at the moment, but we heat with wood, so they aren't incredibly high during the cold season.

Petrol is ~$1.30 AUD per litre. Diesel is ~$1.50 (Depends on the day of the week, changes of 10c or more over the week are not uncommon.

Power is ~$450 per 3 months with an average usage of 17kWHrs per day.

403 km a month. With around 1.5 € per litre ($7.6 USD per gallon) and 5 litres per 100 km that are 30€ ($40 USD) per month.
Don't know about electricity, but as we heat with solar energy it's a bit more expensive in winter.

Given today's exchange rate RUB/USD = 30.8099...

Mean prices at Moscow filling stations today:

1 metric litre Low-octane petrol = 27.34 roubles = 88.74 US cents
1 metric litre High-octane petrol = 30.35 roubles = 98.51 US cents
1 metric litre Diesel = 28.52 roubles = 92.57 US cents

The per 1 kW*h price from my own power bill (Khimki, Moscow territory):
2.37 roubles = 7.69233 US cents

Hope you can do the rest of conversions required.

1.5€ per l for me, which is currently about €80 per month, since I don't drive very far now, but pretty often. Plan to reduce my car use in the new year, my new apartment is only 2 km away from both major facilities of my company, and the shopping street of Wolfsburg is less than 1 km away (but also 30 meters in altitude).

Heating and electricity are expected to be around €150 per month, but I have not seen any bill yet to calculate the real values. Electricity costs 24 cent per kWh here, could get as low as 21 cent/kWh if I would consume all electricity between 20h and 6h - which is pretty unrealistic.

Previous electricity/heating costs are about the same, but instead of district heating, it was liquid gas. District heating costs 6 cent per kWh, I estimate the effectivity at less than 300 kWh per square meter and year -> maximal 990 € per year/82 € per month.

I've calculated, and here in South-Norway, a litre petrol costs something like 13,50 NOK (Norwegian kroner), and +- 0,2 the same for the diesel. In USD and gallons, it's $ 8,80...

My monthly expeditures:

-House around 180 square meters - family of 4.

Electricity: $78/month
Natural Gas for heating & water heating: $105/month

Well at my local Petrol station its £1,30 a litre today.

And electric bill is a can of worms i don't want to dig in at the moment, in the UK it is very dependent on who your supplier is and what tariff you are on.

Local Diesel prices around £1.35/Litre.

Electricity is a bit of a mess, usual split tarrif. Local supplier says 4.187MW for 2010 at 13.23 pence(less VAT) per kWhour, or £522 for 2010.

Have to use LPG for heatin and hot water, thats getting expensive, 56.45 pence/Litre or about £2700 per annum. Thats with two cold winters and poor summers.

Here, gasoline is about R$2.49 (~$1.39 USD) per litre, and electricity is R$0.37 (~$0.20 USD) kWh.

after asking my parents :P and look at gas station :
gasoline : Rp4500 (low octane petrol and diesel) to Rp8900 (high octane petrol) ($0,49 to $0,98) per litre
electricity : about ~Rp400 ($0,04) per KWh

1.4 EUR/l for gasoline and diesel here. I don't need too much of it, though, as my family uses public transport more than the car (costs around 150EUR per month). Nevertheless, we put around 120l in the tanks per month.

As for electricity, we pay around 1200 EUR per year (approx. 17 cent per kWh), with the consumption being pretty constant over the year, because of heating with wood in the cold months.

Electricity is about 0.06$ for 1kWt/h (can't remember exaclty), gasoline (92-octane for my car) is 0,95 $/litre and growing.

Russia, south-western Siberia.

Gas just recently hit under $3/gallon here in Orangeburg, South Carolina:) (I can't believe I'm smiling about that)

Electricity is around $200-$250 a month, but we expect it to hit $400 come January:(

Gas (SP95/E10) : 1.45 EUR/l. I use roughly 50 liters/month, so I pay an average of 72.5 EUR/month.

Electricity : in theory 0.0916 EUR/kWh (6h-22h), and 0.0567 EUR/kWh (22h-6h). On my July-August bill, I consumed 291 kWh (day) + 200 kWh (night). So that would be pretty cheap.

BUT there is : +13.62 EUR for power routing, +12.94 EUR for two month of the contract, 2*4.42 EUR + 1.92 EUR for social taxes, and finally the national tax on commercial products : 5.5% on the electricity itself (14.86 EUR), and 19.6% on the "commercial services" (43.66 EUR).

So for two summer months, everything included, 67.90 EUR.

For two winter months (electrical heating), up to 200 EUR.

Gasoline is just under $3/gal at the moment. (i hear it's 2.87 somewhere around here)
I don't have an electric bill on me.
Also, the highest gasoline has ever been here is about $4/gal, a couple summers ago.
In general, we have comparatively low gas prices in the Houston area. Not much trucking to be done from the port of Houston, AND Baytown has most of the nation's refineries.
