Hey guys, this might be a oftenly said question but i dont know. What happened to the Orbiter Gemini add-on, who worked on it and why did he or she not making anymore more of them?Thanks.Ryan.

IIRC, that was pretty much Rob Conley's baby. I know 80mileshigh did some really exceptional stuff for it too (intended for a future release?).
He also helped me with some much more detailed splashdown visuals and scenarios (see pic). I just haven't had the time to get it functional enough to send off to Rob for an OK.

Last update I'm aware of added the VC, maybe a year or a year & 1/2 ago.

There are a few things that might need a little tweaking, but honestly, it still looks really good even by today's standards (to my eyes anyway).

If a new version comes along, you'll have to get in line behind me to download it!:P

Until then, just enjoy the one we've got...

Well, maybe somebody can ask for a status information. It was open-source, so any coder could help advancing the project, though I would have to say for myself, I would not dare it - Robs class structure is a real piece of art from my field of expertise, and I don't want to damage it with my sloppy coding style (And I have enough to do, to cause some heart attacks in the SSU team). But maybe somebody else can.

Amen. Rob (aka estar) is a Class A guy in my book. Always a pleasure to work with him. Doing the Mercury and Gemini projects was lots of fun and enjoyment for me.

Question... how does one get the "Addon Developer" tag on his profile?

Wow you even got those green marker things, i was just curious about it, you dont want to take anything for granted for example the M6 forum.

I am still around but for the past two years I been writing Roleplaying materials like this and doing the cartography. I was an opportunity I didn't want to pass.

Doesn't mean I won't return to doing Orbiter Add-ons or completing my Gemini Add-ons. In the meantime it is all open source and my intent is for people to play with the source as well as the add-on itself.

Finally despite being seemly unrelated, one of my goals on working with RPGs is improving my writing skills which bears on my orbiter work. My intent is to write a book on Mercury and Gemini with the focus on "You too can fly a spacecraft.".

Rob Conley

P.S. Regardless of what I am doing I will at least maintain my add-ons so they work with the new version of Orbiter when it is released.

You don't need to excuse for developing RPG materials. For which RPG do you develop?

I am also a big RPG and tabletop fan, so it is a chance, I can really understand. I codevelop RPG heavy scenarios for table top conventions for some time now, and nothing beats being the referee and see how players enjoy the material you created and maybe even years later say at the bar, how much fun they had on a convention.

Used to be D20. My current project is generic D&Dish fantasy for Goodman Games. 4th edition D&D has thrown everything into confusion until it is released.
