What music are you listening to?

Some more American progressive music from the sister label to the last album...

This is another of those tax scam albums, but this time the performers have been identified as the band Jasper Wrath, depending on who you believe this was either released without their permission/knowledge or they recorded it specifically to be released under a pseudonym, either way it's not bad at all.

Once more from the mysterious vaults of the American Recording Industry...

Some time earlier:

In honor with our recently discovered extrasolar visitor, the best ever panspermia-themed song:

Granted, there might be much competition in this particular niche, but it is a kick-ass song in any case.

On a random whim I wandered into an antique shop today to browse around old electronics equipment, and while mindlessly flipping through used vinyl records I stumbled upon something I've been looking for for a long time, a classic that is the epitome of 1970s space rock awesomeness, a recording that deserves to be dubbed to cassette and played in your '76 Trans Am's Blaupunkt stereo at ear-splitting volume while flying down a desert highway at 95 miles per hour with the T-tops open under a canopy of stars...Billy Thorpe's Children of the Sun (1979, RIP Billy!)

This record has been out of print for a long time, but I just got done setting up new speakers for my old Garrard record player yesterday and all of the sudden this awesomeness falls into my lap and is currently filling my living room with aliens flying ships across beams of light...

This track, along with seven others, will be part of the "Defender of the Fleet" F-14A/A+/B package for DCS from Heatblur studios later this year.

I may not play DCS (my poor old laptop would spontaneously combust upon trying to run it, I'm sure. ), but should I ever get it, that Tomcat package looks slick.

Considering today:

Been diving into slow core/lo fi stuff lately. It's a new phase for me I guess. This band Duster is great, listening to it feels like the audio equivalent of coming in out of the freezing rain and sitting by the fireplace with a warm cup of tea. I love this.
