Hi all. I've been away from Orbiter for quite a while and would like to begin again but can't decide on which version I should download. In going through the forums it seems that v2016 has surface terrain but you can't "walk" on it because UMMU/UCGO don't work. In v2010, UMMU/UCGO works but Orulex and Meshland doesn't work to generate the terrain or detect the "collision" with the new surface. Does that mean that I have to go back to v2006 to be able to do both? Is v2006 still available? Thanks

All the older versions of Orbiter are available for download at the Hangar.

For me the 2016 version has been my primary go-to, but I still have plenty to do using Orbiter 2010.

Yes and yes. 2006 is still available and you have to go back to 2006 to have both functioning UMmu and Orulex or Meshland. However, the experience will be nothing near 2016 in regards of terrain.
UMmu has not been updated for 2016, and as it seems, never will. So your best bet to come close to the experience is fred18's GeneralVehicle addon, which allows to follow the terrain in ground-based vehicles. I guess you can also take an UMmu mesh and slap a GV config on it to make a movable UMmu.

Looks like Fred is going to become the new, open-source Dan.
