Where can I find CEV-Orion?

Rocket launch orientated?

LC-39 has been used for the Saturn V and Saturn 1B, as well as the Shuttle.

It is very much "rocket launch orientated". It is used to launch rockets!

I think he ment a tower systm more rocket worthy.

The Ares I adaption to Pad-39B?

That I can understand.

I still do not understand "rocket worthy". All launch pads should be rocket worthy...

what i mean by "ROCKET WORTHY" is a tower made for the Ares 1 launcher. as it is now, complex 39B is too short for the oporation of a maned flight. as you can see in the below picture...

Simcosmos, any update on the MLP for Ares?

Here is a verry good artist's impression from Nasa.gov of what it will look like.

They just going to let the RSS rust in the wind?

No, the RSS will be removed.

That roller coaster looks cool though - it will be much better than the slide wire baskets. Astronauts will actually want a pad emergency, if it means they will get to use that roller coaster!!!

well, it will have to be rigoruosly tested and the astronauts will need to be familiar with it. that means plenty of rid... training exercises for the astronauts

HA HA!

Yeah, I guess astronauts will need to do quite a few test runs, just to be sure that they have got the hang of it;)

Simcosmos, any update on the MLP for Ares?

Slowly working on Pads39 / MLP related stuff (3D models + textures) in a way that allows me to, later on, adapt things for AresI-V (based on NASA design iterations, clean pad with 3 lightning towers, MLP with Apollo like tower), Direct SDLV (current main goal, pad with FST, 3 lightning towers, MLP with smaller umbilical tower) and to my own custom / alternative reality AresI-V designs (haven’t yet fully decided which approach will take for that one…)

Haven’t yet made much previews of that work but older stuff (with outdated 3D / outdated materials / textures) can be seen at my flickr space:

Direct SDLV Aproach:
(might try to upload extra / fresh previews one of these days)

For something a little closer (but not the same) to Ares Approach (in what concerns launch facilities philosophy)…

There are extra images about these 'placeholder' launch pads inside the zip located in this temporary link.

But this is all *outdated* work: in any case, something like the images of the pad / MLP displayed just above can be found in the old alpha / ‘rough’ development mini-package that I have shared with Mars For Less Addon Team and which is distributed inside such zip:

http://www.aovi93.dsl.pipex.com/mars_for_less.htm
http://flyingsinger.blogspot.com/2008/09/more-mars-for-less-video.html
(check around 2 minutes for the AresI / launch pad… although the final credits are missing for some of the stuff seen at that youtube video ; examples: francisdrake's CEV, my AresI/launchpad, etc, snif)

As also noted, there exist / might exist other options *from other addon authors* and which can be ‘mixed’ with a little of scenario editing (sorry, updated toys from my side might take a while to surface, at least under a form of a public addon released at OHM... not having as much free time as once had for Orbiter).
