I think it really depends on what you are trying to hear it through. I noticed I could hear much higher frequencys with headphones on rather than through the speakers.
I noticed that I could actually hear all of the samples played back directly from the website but anything above the 14kHz whine was a lower frequency sampling alias so don't be fooled...
I only noticed in the last five years or so that the top end of my hearing range was falling off. HiFi treble control seemed to make less difference, couldn't hear bats etc. Then the other week I found the instruction manual for my old 1982 cassette deck. The specs read:
"Normal tape 35 to 13000Hz
Chrome tape 35 to 14000Hz
Metal tape 35 to 15000Hz"
So, it is quite likely I can enjoy the full frequency range of my vinyl LP collection for a few more years yet!
