I'm currently planning for a Mars mission using Velcro Saturns and futuristic landers/capsules (nothing DG-IV like). I know what launch vehicles and spacecraft I'm using, all I need to know is what propulsion stage I should use.

I've come down to 3 candidates:

  • Wishbone's [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=5215"]NTR stage[/ame]
  • Hlynkacg's [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=5339"]Orbital Transit System[/ame]
  • A combination of Kulch's [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4350"]Space Tankers[/ame] and Sputnik's [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3389"]Velcro Saturns[/ame]
The "Tanker-Saturn" stack is arranged like this:

(the amount of S-IIs can vary)

Which propulsion stage would have enough power to push ~50 tons into Martian orbit and back to Earth?
