I was just flying an XR2 to the ISS (from a scenario I made). When I was about dock, I switched to virtual cockpit, and this is what I saw

Happy Halloween! :tiphat:
(His name is Marvin, he comes with the XR2. ;))
Edit: Fraking ninja'd! XD

LOL, thanks Orb. I did a search on the forum but should have used Halloween as a key word. I guess Santa will be on my windshield this Christmas.

On a related note, my attempt to take a screenshot today resulted in a rather awkward development:

Im so glad to read about this. I landed on Triton last night and when I switched to outside view I saw it. I thought I was the only one to have hit the little fellow.

I'm definitely going to go change my system date to have a look at this. Hallowe'en just has to be the one day I don't fly an XR-2!

I know, right?

I actually DID fly the XR2 - but only for a few minutes (and all in 2D cockpit view). I had a docking maneuverer to finish, and I had time between work and Halloween party.

Figures, I've gotten so good at docking that I didn't need to switch to the External view. >.<

I think the better solution for your problem would be better wipers.

Remember that you have to set your system date, not Orbiter's simulation date.

In any case, you can force Marvin visible without messing with your system date by setting the following undocumented value anywhere in the [GENERAL] section of your XR2RavenstarPrefs.cfg file:

Code:
ForceMarvinVisible = 1

My XR-2 uses solid-state wipers..

Well my heart goes out to marvins family in gorgaflorgn 77. Though the flowers may take some time to get there... He will be cremated in re-entry. Farewell marvin!

I just think that it was a funny and clever little surprise

The very definition of an Easter Egg, no less.

See this thread again next year!

I can bet there will be a new thread on this topic created next year, and then someone will post a link to this, or to the one from the last year, or earlier thread. :P

What I'd really like to see is a martian stowaway in the space shuttle cargo bay peering through the flight deck windows. Now that'd be an interesting surprise.

Next's years... well... an reeeeealy stupid alien holding a EA logo at the windscreen...

Code:
[FONT="Arial"]YOUKNOWWHO:"-Please let me in! And uhhh... what's written at the C++ config?...Ah... I want the furry dicezz and get probe monument"
Pilot:"-Ok. but still don't... *swoosh!* YOU STUPID ALIEN! DO YOU NEVER RTFM!? LESSON 1 OF SPACEFLIGHT; NEVER OPEN THE HATCH OUT OF ATMOSPHERE!
Commander:INSTRUMENTS SHOW ZERO PSI! WE ALL ARE GOIN' TO DIEE!!!"

Computer:"-last transmission at 31st october of 2019, 23:30h."

Mission Control #1:"-Time for a cover-up..."

Mission Control #2:"-Oh, no. Another one?!"[/FONT]

  :jiggy:

I'M A ALIENZ! NOT DEAD YET!
Yeah! but the rest of the earth does'nt knows that! Get back on the coffin!
They will live in our memory forever... :shifty:
