If it isn't being used frequently, why don't the admins take it off? Honestly! It's like Windows Live messenger online. Why have it when no one is using it?

Could you possibly be any more negative?

We now have a group for Miserable Users, unless you like reduced forum usability, slow page loads, or no page loads at all you might want to change the attitude.

oh. um... sorry. I kinda have a short fuse. Just wondering why you have the live chat feature is all. :roflcopter:

It's there for anyone who wants to use it, the staff indeed use it sometimes too.

Actually, I would use it more, when more people would be there from time to time. And maybe also the possibility to create temporary channels.

I think you can create temporary rooms, maybe only mods can right now, I'll look into it.

Well there is not much demand for it, but it's still a nice feature to have in case it's ever needed. Why take a first aid kit if you aren't using it at the exact moment? ;)

It will probably get filled up the next big launch. On Falcon 1's third launch, we filled up the chatroom with idle conversation and random junk loosely related to the flight while I and others periodically updated the forum topic with firmly on-topic updates on the flight. Like my ham radio, I might not rag chew day in day out, but I'm glued to it when a severe storm rears its ugly head.

It was nice watching the Falcon 1 Launch live in a chat room (otherwise I had to keep refreshing the forum thread and that got old really fast.
