Is there a way to prevent the Windows 7 fonts change after Orbiter start? In some programs like Eclipse the text becomes hardly readable.

Are you using Orbiter Beta? Which version?

Orbiter 2012 + P2 change fonts. I don't know why.

It happens when I use both 100830 and 121129 beta versions

Because there's a feature of "Vista Boost" included in Orbiter Beta for some time now, which disables font smoothing by default.

There's an option to disable this feature:

Orbiter Launchpad -> Extra -> Debugging options -> Performance options -> Font smoothing: uncheck the "Disable font smoothing while Orbiter is running" checkbox.

Thanks, orb. It solved the issue in beta installation. In 100830 I had VistaBoost module enabled. After I deselected it fonts display smooth. Now it's interesting to compare the performance with smoothing on and off. I hope there is not much difference.

Well it used to be more significant, but since the HUD change to a rendered system over the older text method, it's a lot less important.

I should rerun those tests--those numbers were gathered with Orbiter 2006.

Yes, it is a PITA.
Every time I exist the beta version, I have to manually reset the clear type by enable the tick box.
Just right click with your mouse on the desktop....not an icon
Click on personalisation.....
Click on display....
Click on adjust clear type and tick the Cleartype box.

Do you use VistaBoost in Orbiter Beta?

If so, then stop using it. Orbiter has exactly the same feature.

If you don't use VistaBoost, but you still need to reset it manually, then there is "Enforce font smoothing on exit" option starting from beta revision 19 (121221).
