Question Windows Movie maker crashing randomly!

Every time i open my saved project, i get a crash message;"The instruction at '0x02812e58' made reference for memory at '0x02889000'. The memory could not be 'read' "

what is happening?

Welcome to Windows Movie Maker. I can't say I know exactly what is causing your problem, but I can tell you I experienced random and frequent crashes the limited time I used it when I started making movies years ago.

I got this once as well. It eventually went away for me.

Based on the logic of the error message, not on any knowledge of WMM itself, I would say that your project file contains, and is trying to point to a file that no longer exists, and it can not deal with it missing.

I use Adobe Premiere and After Effects, and when you open a project that points to a file that no longer exists, they open up a dialogue box, that asks you for the location of that file, and if you can not find it, and cancel the box, all instances of that file are removed from the project. WMM might not be complicated enough to deal with such events.

But there's the problem! all video and/or sound/image files are all in its places!
Also, i cannot afford 600 DOLLARS for Sony Vegas! Not everyone has paypal around!

The full version of Vegas isn't a huge improvement over the others. The lesser versions on eBay (Platinum 10/Platinum Pro 9 specifically) are well under $100.
