Maybe the world did end but we just don't know

There are people who claim that everything you experience isn't real because it's just what your consciousness creates. I've heared buddhists say that (German buddhists though). They also say once every human has died the universe will disappear because there is nobody anymore who can experience the unisverse. I asked, why is it that the universe did exist way before humans did exist., but I didn't get any answer.
