Hey guys, if you were offered a seat in any spacecraft and you were luanched into space, would you do it?, some people might chicken out or be brave and do it?, what kind of spacecraft would you want to go up on? what position would you want for example commander. I would personally do it, i would like to go up on a Saturn V with a moon mission, i would like to be Command Module Pilot.

Pretty much any human-rated spacecraft on any mission, from suborbital to Earth orbit to lunar orbit or landing. Not that any of this is remotely likely, but the time commitment and long-term physical effects of a Mars mission would make that much less desirable, as cool as the idea of going to Mars might be. An old saying about military flying would apply - "hours of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror" - but magnified to months and months. But a few days to a few weeks in Earth orbit or on a Moon mission? Sure thing.

LM Pilot during the Apollo period would have been great fun, but that won't happen now.

I must say that I would most like to travel in a Soyuz TMA and have a stay on the ISS for a while, maybe even a full 6 month trip.

Anything where I could pilot the craft would be the best. Anyone gone to Disney World and taken a ride on "Mission Space"? Excellent space sim ride!

Of course I would. If I could choose my role it would be as ISS commander. I don't fancy being a shuttle commander as the missions are too short, and you don't get that much leeway in what to do.
ISS Commander, though, you get a say in organising the entire science programme up there, plus you get to do engineering work. What could be better?

I would like to be commander of a Mars mission. Or at least a permanent expedition on a distant langrange point station.

For the ISS, you would have more might by being on the ground, at some distance, it is really you who has the responsibility.

Yeah, but being on the ground isn't half as fun ;)

or in the space station MIR under the pacific that would be great!

Freak Yes.
I assure you Absolutly Everyone on this Fourm wants to go to space!

Personally I would love to go into space, but at my age I have my kids future to think of as well as (hopefully) grandchildren in the not too distance future. So I would probably, reluctantly, turn down the offer. Unless it was a week or two long trip to the moon, that would be just too tempting to turn down ;)

I would like to do a circumlunar trip, or maybe a couple of orbits so I could overfly the Apollo 11 landing site, photograph it in high res, then do a skip reentry so that I can release a JDAM on Bart Sibrel house while I upload the pics to Flickr. PWNED!
