does that mean the cup will not be 'ejectable' doug? if not i won't bother putting a bottom face on it... i quite liked the idea of it floating around the cabin.

Well, I could add a button to eject it easily enough, in which case it would indeed float around the cabin -- for about eight seconds. After which it would continue floating right through the cabin wall. :) Without collision detection there is little point in having an ejection system for the cup, and implementing collision detection with bounce logic is not a trivial task.

I'll do it using Meshland. Will be a lot of legwork, but it'll be doable.

Make sure not to make the vessel to heavy, then it'll affect the craft movement.

I'm pretty sure a Big Gulp can screw up ascent auto-pilots...

I don't think so. Assuming they are kept symetrical, the AP will simply shift CoG a little more to stay on attitude. And besides that, how big do you think those cups are? As a general rule: 1 Liter of water has a Mass of roughly 1 KG.

I think he meant "if you pour it into the autopilot" ;)

Shouldn't Altea have learned something from the amount of water landed XR1s I brought in?!

Yes. The overhead stowage locker now comes with an exclusive Altea rubber duck and a bottle of foam bath. The page in the customer brochure is labeled like that:

"If you can't stand the smell of your fellow astronauts any minute longer..."

How would the duck look like? Could you make a mesh for it, Urwumpe :)?

Would it actually be possible to take a bath in space? Showering is possible, but could you design a zero-G bathtub? It would be quite hard because of the water floating around in it, but technically possible from my point of view.

You could take a normal bathtub. Put a rubber blanket on it with a hole for your head, suck as much air out of the tub as possible and then fill it with water.
Must be funny to be in so much water and not feel any pressure...

Well guys, just to keep you updated, Beta should be going out very soon to those individuals who are involved in the testing. Alpha testing has been pretty intense!

I've made some special graphics to celebrate this key point in the Ravenstars development, just a bit of fun.

Also, new dice!

Awesome mission patch, what a clever idea. Question about the VC layout: what is that indicator under the hud display for? Is it the bearing to your map target? And will the layout of the lower display between the pilots be the same for the 2D panels?

thats the slip rate indicator. I've no idea what the final panels will be like for the final 2D panels... but something similar to the XR1's i would imagine. I've tried to reflect the xr1's panel location in the xr2's 3d pit and used that as reference so there is a similarity as far as what instrument, indicator or control you would find on each panel... even if they aren't in exactly the same place or order.

Hey do you know if there is a guess release dated of this Heavenly mod lol cant wait to fly this baby

Most of the development is finished, and the only feature remaining is payload support. Beta-1 just went out, and there will probably be three more milestone closed Beta versions before public Release Candidate testing begins. Each Beta will take several weeks, so it will likely be late October before RC1 (Release Candidate One) testing begins. Plus I'll be on vacation in Nags Head, NC for a little over a week in September, so that will push the date back as well.

Hang in there -- we are hard at work on it! :)

Tuesday, then.

Anyway, just out of curiosity, the Fuzzy Dicez, are they static? Or do they actualy move around during flight? Think of it as an indicator to how much effort you put into this :P

Oh, nice facial modelling. Looks better than most other stuff I see on Orbiter!

I remember you ! Glad you found us.
