You know you're addicted to Orbiter when...

When aboard this ship
you curse yourself for not having a laptop with Orbiter installation.

yep. now at work I go to lunch at T+ (18Ks) until T+ (19.8Ks)

Not to pick nits here, but isn't start of lunch time equivalent to T=0? :P

Not to pick nits here, but isn't start of lunch time equivalent to T=0? :P

well with my particular schedule, I have T- as my time until work starts then T=0 is when I officially start then my lunch time is at that particular part of my work day. I consider it part of my workday because I stay at work and just go to a different part of the building:thumbup:

On the other hand, now that you mention it, I usually DO press the split button and time my lunch as 1800 sec from T=0

When you fly an XR2 to the Moon and discover a lunar eclipse without knowing about it.

Code:

XR2 landed at UMmu 2.0 demo base on the Moon during a total lunar eclipse on Dec 21 2010. I didn't know about the eclipse before flying there just for fun. Several hours from scenario start, the XR2's illumination will go orange and then normal, as if it was in LEO.

Depends on what's your lunch window.
What about Breakfast? Don't want to make mistakes with your toast burns, you might overburn your toast, and unfortunately toast isn't capable of retro-grade burns.

Darren

Edit: And I've heard rumors that toast doesn't work with IMFD in 2010 P1, can anyone confirm this?

You know you're addicted to Orbiter when you make an add-on about toast to test whether it works with IMFD.

You know that you are addicted to Orbiter when you laugh at yourself after trying to rotate a picture of the ISS with a right-click-drag. The person next to you asks you why you are laughing, causing you to launch into a 30-minute speech about Orbiter, only to find them asleep when you finish.

I do this all the time.

The only way you can schedule things is in kiloseconds or megaseconds

...when you approach red traffic light und try to turn retrograde...

You know you're addicted to Orbiter when you run your own private virtual space agency and make long, complex reports in .pdf just for the kicks

You know you're addicted to Orbiter:

When you see a dog chasing its tail and you instantly calculate semi-major axis, longitude of ascending node, argument of periapsis etc. before realizing that it actually isn't in orbit.

When you don't realize that it actually isn't in orbit.

When you wonder why NASA doesn't change its name to Altea Aerospace and replaces its Space Shuttle with the XR2.

When you send an e-mail to NASA telling this to them and as an attachement you send the XR2 mesh and module.

When your daydreams involve yourself flying an XR2 to the ISS. (guilty...)

When you are a space tourist aboard the Shuttle and the launch autopilot fails, and you fly it manually to the ISS, and when the crew asks you where did you learn to do this you say orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk.

When you live on Mars (hallucinations from too much Orbiter).

When your rickrolling videos on Youtube use the music "Air on a G string".

When you wear t-shirts with ICWFT on them (I Can't Wait For Tuesday).

When you somehow manage to play Orbiter 25 hours a day.

When you begin spamming this thread when you run out of ideas.

Hghhsmkhjkjdjk skjklsjklhj sijsjdkjkdjlk
JKGkljklhasj skjjlljlhjjhlj sljllljlkjs.

...when you attach an ESC key to your dashboard so you can eject if you ever drive off a bridge.

...when you test it by driving off a bridge.

...when you keep every door in your house closed to contain depressurization in the event of a hull breach.

...when you have a space suit in the closet for EVAs.

When you have a bad day and you look for an escape key to eject from school or work

When you keep a stock of freeze dried foods for snacks to eat while lfying orbiter, jsut to make it that much more realistic

When you spend so much time trying to figure out the proper physics for your addon that you end up not actually playing much Orbiter anymore.

Guilty.

When people in your house wonder why you keep screaming, "What do you mean, 'Thrust Not Max Turbo Shutdown'!?"

When you try to plan the most opportune times around the holidays to print manuals, tutorials, and other orbiter-related material on the printers at work, knowing that even being the IT tech doesn't exempt you from being punished if you get caught...
