Oh, what a cute thread.

Here are mine, from my album, also not 100% nature. They show some oddities taken in a forest nearby. One could think that it's haunted, or alternatively, that many 'shrooms grow there :lol:

That guy paints various religious and pseudo-science texts on walls surrounding remains of target range from II WW, deep inside a forest nearby. Here, you can see carefully painted periodic table on the left, and on the right - tips for school pupils how it's best to learn that table.
Somebody wrote on it later, that the artist is worth as much as y'' = y' * x + 2 * y. Other people paint graffiti over his stuff. A bit saddening.

Just recently went on a day trip to southern Maine, and have some interesting photos.

Not exactly nature, but one of my favorites. It's the iron works in the town of Bath. Two navy destroyers were being constructed.

Again, not exactly nature... This is a picture of Fort Popham, a small fort started in the Revolutionary War, but never finished. It was garrisoned up until the end of World War One.

A large rock just a few hundred meters out from Popham Beach. It is accessible during low tides, but if you stay on the rock when the tide starts coming in, you will be stuck there until early the next morning. My wife and I found ourselves struggling through several feet of very cold water in order to return to the beach, as we had underestimated how fast the tide would come in.

Since I've only used Windows Movie Maker, I really don't have an opinion of which is the best. Certainly there exists better.

Congratulations on "nearly 10 years of marriage"! Even in this day and age, 10 years is certainly no rookie achievement. But I had help making this, as my wife took about half of the summer photos. And my sister took the photo at the end of the latest version while we visited her in Seattle...our first full day there being our 25th anniversary.

God this thread is depressing, to see such beauty exists and still be stuck in the most boring place in Florida (oldest European settlement, google it).

The only time I have difficulty seeing beauty in Florida is when the windshield wipers can't cut through the mosquito guts anymore.

These aren't my photos, but they were all taken in Franklin County, Maine, where I currently reside.

About my contribution to this thread: it was hard to make a selection. I decided to give max. 1 picture per country. Strangely I hardly have any pictures of the Netherlands...

There is a ship wreck...That has yet to be cleaned up properly...A bunch of high schoolers actually got hurt because of the debris.

You want nature? Here's more nature than I asked for. This is an Eastern Timber Rattlesnake, and it was about 5 feet long and as big around as my wrist in the middle:

So I was hiking with my girl friend in the mountains of Virginia about 4 and a half years ago and we were on the top of the ridge walking and talking. I was on the lookout for copperhead snakes, since I had seen them many times and they are venomous. I come around a bend and all of a sudden there's this huge brown snake lying across the trail.

I jumped back, and the snake also jumped back and coiled up. There we stood, looking at each other. I thought, "Wow, awful big and light brown for a copperhead". Boy am I stupid. I took a step towards it to get a better look, and its tail came up and rattled once, loudly.

I got the message, put the telephoto attachment on my camera, and walked around it. Since it was in the sunlight I got good light. And I managed to avoid getting bit, which is always a bonus. Look at the full size photo, you can clearly make out the pupils of the eyes.

According to sources, the difference between the western rattler (like you see in cowboy movies) and the eastern timber rattler (which was on many early American flags) is that the western rattler makes alot of noise and gets aggressive if you get close, while the timber rattler generally just waits for you to go away, is willing to quietly let you just walk past, and only rattles once or twice before striking, when it feels cornered.

So if that holds true, I was pretty close to getting a legfull of nasty snake venom. Given my location, miles away from the nearest road, that would've turned into a very bad day for me.

So I'm pretty happy the long skinny fellow let me know what he was about to do.

It's always good to have a powerful zooming lens for animal photorgaphy, and this is especially true in case of snakes!

These are pictures of one seashore sunrise which I took pictures of in a very serene morning at an Eastern Crime shore last summer. All pictures are clickable for HD.

Cormorants are usually seen diving during the daytime. Here in the morning, I have seen them flying in complete silence:

After climbing the mountain, this settlement's picture was taken. Most people are still sleeping, unaware of the sky colour mystery which has just set in the sky:

Yes.
I didn't find much nature in my US pictures. I had some pictures of a natural reserve somewhat more south near the coast (I think it was in Virginia), but they weren't really special and not really sharp either. While this location is more like a park, and the atmosphere is the only piece of real nature in the picture, I think the picture really shows what it was like in the evening after a hot summer day.

I ride my bike in that area frequently, cjp, and often across that very bridge, when I'm in the Northern Virginia area.

@Evil_Onyx: another fellow B&W film user! We have to stick together. Film is now getting past the "lambasted by digital" crisis and is starting to make a comeback as an "alternative" medium for photographers. While Kodak remains a step behind the market (for now), vendors like Ilford, Photokemica, and Arista are releasing new paper and film products for the artist niche market.

I ride my bike in that area frequently, cjp, and often across that very bridge, when I'm in the Northern Virginia area.

It's like we could've met each other there without knowing it, back in 2005, but it's impossible to know, as most people don't remember unknown faces for such a long time.

In theory you could be on one of my pictures, but I don't think there's much chance, because I generally don't make pictures of strangers for privacy reasons, and especially in that area there is probably another type of people as well who don't want to be pictured. The strangers I have in my pictures are mostly tourists around the memorial buildings.

I tried to find a picture of you on the Internet, but I failed, because there are simply too many Andy's. If your middle name starts with an R, then I have your address though.
