Best Modern Air Combat Sim(s)?

Anyone try Flanker 2.0? (yea I know its dated, but its latest one I have)

Its pretty nice except you can only fly the Mig 29 or the Flanker 27 / 37

Flanker 2.0 is the predecessor of Lock-On, both are made by the same programmers, but Lock-On uses an updated engine.

Lock-On has as player planes:

  • F-15C
  • A-10
  • Su-27
  • Su-33
  • Mig-29
  • Su-25
So, there is enough to choose from.

What makes Lock-On pretty nice is that the other units around are made very detailed and complex. Tanks and artillery move and fire, Helicopters are done pretty nice and I once even set up a full-scale battle between two carrier groups. Cities can get damaged by combat (easily) and destroying bridges stops convoys.

that freefalcon one looks great, but it just says that it cant find the file when I try to download:(

Aw damn just a while ago I had an AMAZING WW2 combat sim on my comp. IT had online multiplayer. Tanks + Fighters + Bombers + Boats. You could organize your own bombing missions and recruit bombers and fighters to defend you. IT was like a neverending battle cuz the point of it is to capture all of the enemies bases (there are like 100 for each map XD). FORGOT THE NAME!!! >:/

that would have sounded fun to play but i guess no on here can cuz you FORGOT THE NAME. i don't want to be mean but jst explain to me how if you liked it so much forgot the name

It sounds like either Fighter Ace or Aces High II. I have had free trials for both of these games on my computer at one time or another. (could hardly tell any difference between them :P)

 I still have the submarine warfare sim from Janes Combat Simulations! (and still play it every now and then on my old 95 ;))
I believe Frying Tiger, creator of the Delta Glider, used to work for Janes.

Not directly for Janes, but for Sonalysts (Who really are behind "688i Hunter/Killer"). The people who also gave you such beautiful drugs like "Dangerous Waters" ;)
