Question Unmanned craft

Has anyone made an 'unmanned' spacecraft? I am thinking of a delta glider that can be configured to take off at a specific time with a destination. It would go through all the phases of a flight such as orbit, reentry etc. You would not fly this craft but you could see and interact with it during flight. You could even fly in formation with it. Is it possible?

Or record it with the flight recorder, and then play it back and create the vessel you want to fly with via the scenario editor.

Thanks for the information. I am going to try out the autopilot. I also want to see if flight recorder allows replay while flying a new spacecraft.
