A standard industrial Megaton range demolition charge in shape of UCGO cargo.
Once unpacked it will blow up in 10 minutes.
Graphics and effects included.

To set power change the name in Config\Vessels\Ucgo\Cargos\CargoNukeUMmu.cfg
ucForceName = N2/ where 2 is the power.

Idea from UCGO docs, box mesh and textures are default with repaint.

Update 111027:
-Recompiled for O2010P1
-Fixed plasme reentry wash being the size of planet
-Added configurable yield

Awesome, Now we can drill down to 30 metres and blow up those pesky asteroids. Bruce Willis would be proud!

Ok, I have a new test cargo for something :) The real insanity can wait.

Anyone else notice that standing next to it launches you at escape velocity for the solar system?

I believe I've found a new method of interstellar travel.

I know - I first detonated one right next to the Arrow...luckily I'd thought to return the UMMU to the ship before detonation, for realism purposes :P

Needless to say, I was rather surprised when I looked back at my screen and was in a rather unstable Earth orbit!

I just activated one at KSC. After 10 minutes there will be some pretty fireworks:lol:

Would it be possible to add a count-down timer of some sort? I never know when the thing is going to detonate.

Also, would the addition of smoke effects be a possibility?

If someone will make a nice bomb-like mesh for it, i would put a timer in.
Alternative - debug line at the bottom.

Smoke in space?
Or smoke if in atmosphere?
Doable, i guess.

You were standing next to a one megatonne nuclear bomb, what have you expected?

I got lucky when I set one off at Brighton, my UMMU guy actually landed on Earth.

Fastest Earth-Moon transit EVER.

Realistically, get vaporized, but I like it better that way anyway...

Anyone with crazy IMFD/TransX skills who can plan and execute a trip to Jupiter using only a charge?

Bonus points if you use a second charge for a smooth orbit insertion

WOW! these are powerful! I lost 2 moon bases when a set one off at a "safe" distance. The two crew that were inside not wearing suits are dead. And the one who was out side watching the blast was sent to the opposite side of the moon.

I need to get better at where I put my bombs. My third attempt ended in everyone Brighton beach being launched out of the solar system.

What is a safe distance? 50k?

Hahaha, I just successfully bombed Brighton from orbit. I used Basesynch to retroburn until my orbit was set to crash right on top of Brighton, then pushed a UMMU guy out the airlock and grappled the nuke. When Basesync read exacly 610 seconds (ten minutes and ten seconds) to impact, I had the UMMU unpack the nuke and hammed my ship's thrusters to climb back to orbit. Aproximately ten seconds to impact, just above and maybe a mile uprange from Brighton, the nuke went off. Made a beautiful sight from orbit.

Requiring a manual unpacking to detonate just means I have to send a crew member along for the ride.
