It was certainly an experience, doing that. But I agree, definitely limit it to 9 or 10 hours for the future. :P

O-F Staff Note: Please remember that the forum has a range of ages viewing the various threads and so some of the more adult discussions on Orbiter Radio may may not be acceptable here.

If in doubt please check the Rules & Guidelines before posting or ask one of the admin/mod staff members.

Totally out of context, yet totally correct. If you're on the forum at this late (or early) hour, we're currently running a show until I get tired, at which point I'll be letting my list run random - which may or may not be a good thing. <_<

Make sure you tune in at http://orbiterradio.thruhere.net/ - and pop into the IRC as well to get your chat on. The #orbiter IRC is accessible through http://www.orbithangar.com via the "Orbiter Chat" link.

By the way, a final thing that we came up with in the show was the tagline:
"Orbiter Radio - Show us on the doll where the radio station touched you."

Needless to say, we should NOT do 13 hours of straight talk radio anymore. The quality goes down rather drastically after hour 9 or 10. >_>

It was a bit "bawdy" at parts, but very, very funny!

Bonsai kittens...

I particularly liked the interludes of "geek talk" and SDK chatter, so much so I was wondering if it might not be an idea to have an hour or two per week dedicated to these subjects, hosted / attended by some of the add on developers, perhaps?

Thanks!

Well, we could. Though I think we find it hard to stay focussed on any one particular topic for a great length of time.

Thinking on it, we could do an addon dev's forum type show, people could submit questions via the request system... that could work. So long as it wasn't for 13 hours, anyway.

Yeah, that was the general idea behind the suggestion. Nothing too involved, like "intense spoken tutorial session" or anything, just some banter on API views / Orbiter projects, keeping up the good humor, of course, and no real worries if it wanders off topic for a while every now and then. ;)

What you did of this last night was working quite well.

And indeed, only for an hour or two at most would be perfect.

I've added a recurring two-hour show to the schedule on Tuesdays, starting 19:00 GMT. No set staff, so nobody needs to commit to doing it, and if nobody can do it then it'll be autostream instead.

So, who wants to throw themselves on the list for the first show? (13th April 2010, 19:00 GMT)

There we are:

Although my studio isn't as flash as LL's, I'm gonna step on the radio after him this evening and warm up for Xyon. Tune in or for some classy orchestral and probably a lil drum & bass too.

Just to push the shows a bit, we've currently got Lambo's Freeform Tentacles playing - good techno-y goodness. After that, we've got yours truly's "Pants Free Radio," where you'll get talk and good tunes.

To add to the post, you can directly access the Orbiter Radio chat via http://kosmos.systemnet.info/chat/ and the radio station through http://orbiterradio.thruhere.net/ - make sure you join us!

And another fun-filled weekend of programming ends. We had quite a bit of back-to-back programme swapping going on there, really made it feel like a proper radio station :P

In other news, welcome to our newest DJs; Posick, Bradfirj9, and Tex.

And finally, DJs like Lambo and Epsilon who play a certain sort of music have taken to putting tracklists up in the forum which hosts the schedule page. So if you're wanting one, head on over there and take a peek.

Next Orbiter Radio show is Trainwreck with myself at 19:00 GMT. That is all.

Oh yes, and in supplementary news, we have a space set aside in IRC for Orbiter Radio listeners to congregate without spamming the main Orbiter IRC channel. There's a webclient at http://xcc.rpgee.com/chat/index.php

Also, Lunar_Lander has just added a show to the schedule for tonight, 16:30-17:30 GMT.

BTW, a new #orbiterradio IRC chat channel is now running on Xyon's server (it includes a radio bot and some other cool features). We've migrated over there for radio chat. Connection info is:

Server: irc.systemnet.info
Channel: #orbiterradio
Port: 6667 (normal) or +6697 (SSL)

Lunar_Lander is on-air right now.

While I do maintain my own playlist at http://www.etmoonshade.net/playlist.html , I certainly don't play a "certain sort" of music, and I don't have lists of tracks played on the forum. ;)

For those who give a crap, by the way, my show is moved to Fridays, between Gary and Tex's show. Catch Pablo49 starting at 1100 PST (PST is GMT-7 right now), and listen to Gary, me, and Tex play tunes out to 2200 PST! Hope to see y'all there for the whole thing.

I will be hopping on the stream from time to time when I feel like it. Either before work or after. So stay tuned for some random streams live from the freezer.
