i have iss v3.2. that has missions from 1998 to 2007. but my problem is. i can't get the cargo to the space station with the robotic arm or via eva. the only thin i have managed to do is loose what has to go top the station in space by releaseing it. how do i grapple it?

You can either use the shuttle's robot arm, or the station's. You can grapple stuff using the station's arm with Q. When objects don't have a grapple fixture, you have to use an astronaut to grapple them using Q (you can view the grapple points by switching focus to ISS and pressing the 'Home' key).

oh ok. i'll have to try that. cause i keep loseing my payload from the shuttle:lol: it never makes it to the iss:facepalm:

well i tried both robitic arms and an eva and i still can't grapple whats in the cargobay. i guess it's just in there for decoration.

Please READ what people are saying or READ the manual. It's there for a reason. Cargo in the cargo bay CAN be grappled by two conditions must be met.

1. It must have a grapple point.

2. The Arm must be over the grapple point.

if either condition is not met you can try to grapple the cargo from now until man lands on Mars and it won't work.

There is a way to see the grapple points on cargo but I'm going to leave it for you to find out how to do that. HINT: The manual.

i did read the manual and IT DON'T WORK. i can try untill man lands on saturn it does not work. and the manual has to lines in it explaining nothing about it.

Correct grammer is a beautifull thing isn't it ?

Orbiter.pdf, page 43. It's all there.

If it still doesn't work please post a screenshot of the cargo, arm and dialog boxes.

alright. now i will make this as clear as i can maybe im NOT being clear enough!!! the attached photo shows the cargo im trying to get out of the space shuttles cargo bay. now i have tried useing the space stations robotic amr. and i have tried useing the space shuttles robotic arm and i have had it show me the grapple points. and i have tried an eva im useing ummu 2.0 but i can not grapple the cargo. is this clrea enough of a description for you???

Well, there is a very simple explanation to your problem: that cargo (SpaceHab, ICC) cannot be removed from the payload bay with the arms. Also, you are using the wrong EVA. Assuming you are using Shuttle Fleet, you shouldn't use ummu on EVA's, you must switch focus to ShuttleBay and press J. That should bring an astronaut outside, and thats the one you should use.

yes. it is clear enough.

It's spacehab, it's not meant to be grappled. It was flown into space so experiments could be conducted then it was returned from space.

In other words, you failed rule 1 of the two rules I posted about here.

Try again with a cargo that has grapple points.

ok. now thank you. yes i am useing shuttle fleet. because thats what the iss v3.2 calls for. and i was also told that ummu 2.0 was needed. so now let me try a differrent cargo. not trying to be nasty. but im trying to be just firm enough to get my point across.

Glad I could help. I only asked if you used Shuttle Fleet because I read somewhere that Space Shuttle Ultra also could be used (or maybe I didn't understand it).

i understand that. and yes it does work. and i got the emu out. but im still working on trying to grab something.

You could also try STS-97. That one has the P6 wich can be grappled. Also, since it seems you never attached anything to Thorton's ISS yet, and it is a little bit more complicated than other attachments to stations, if you need help with that, just ask.

now the orbiter manual didn't say any thing about the emu. how do i grab something? i seen a post about that here on the forum some where

oh ok. thanks

That's because Orbiter manual is for Orbiter only, without any addons installed. For the emu, you would have had to read Thorton's ISS manual. There is information on grappling, etc.
