Hello everyone,

I retired from my work one year ago today. After years of getting up early
and having a job to go to, I found myself suddenly with some free time to
actually relax. Last January, I stumbled onto Orbiter while searching the internet. I've been hooked ever since. I still consider myself a novice, but
even at my age,(56) I'm learning things that were never available to me
before. I just want to say THANKS to everyone involved.

I use DGIV a lot because it has the (seeming unpopular) autopilots that perform certain manouvers while allowing me to focus on learning things like IMFD and othor add-ons.

Yes, I'm hooked, But my wife reminds me that just because I'm retired,
doesn't mean I can sit around and play on the computer all the time.

 I do that all the time and i have sooooooooooooooooooooooo much free time that it is just boring,i`m starting voluntery work tomoz so that`s gd, anywayz, just tell her you deserve to play on the computer, it`s either sitting on the computer or sitting doing something else like wathcing the rubbish on T.V, and Orbiter is kinda educational.lol

Why not? Isnt that what retirement is all about? To relax all day if you can?
After an entire life of getting up early..

I'm still starting my university education, and already want to retire and play orbiter all day... :P

i agree with you up to there. But i would love to be in uni studying either as a geologist or something to do with science/space.I would even love to be in a good job (not retail work).
I just thought TeddyJohn can`t you take the missus to some space museum or the crater in arizona:rofl:

That's a pretty good idea. She's really not THAT tough on me, but she has her own computer. I'm safe to explore the solar system on my own - for now.
